History

The estate's roots lie with the Colla family, growers from 1847 who moved from Santo Stefano Belbo, through Diano d'Alba, to La Morra. In 1961 Paolo Colla realised his dream of making Barolo, buying a vineyard and farmhouse on the Serra dei Turchi hill.

When Paolo's daughter Marianna married Gianni Gagliardo, a young man from the Roero, he joined the estate and bottling began just before 1974, giving the winery its present name.

Now in its sixth generation, Poderi Gianni Gagliardo makes Barolo from ten plots across five communes, from Lazzarito to the original Serra dei Turchi.
