History
Gianfranco Alessandria's father grew grapes in Monforte d'Alba from the 1940s; Gianfranco took over the four hectares in 1986.
Encouraged by his cousin Mauro Veglio, he began bottling in the late 1980s and released his first Barolo in 1993 to acclaim.
A modern cellar followed in 1996 as the estate grew to about seven hectares, still almost entirely family-worked.
