History
Fontanabianca was born in 1969 when Franco Pola made his first bottle of Barbaresco Bordini; his father Secondo had previously worked the Neive property as a farm. The estate is named for a natural spring in the valley once used by the villagers of Neive.
The estate sits on the Bordini cru, a full-sun south-facing hill near the Tanaro river, and also holds a share of the Serraboella cru.
Franco's work continues with his son Aldo and Aldo's son Matteo, who has made the wines with growing responsibility since 2013.
