History

Deltetto was founded in 1953 when Carlo 'Carlin' Deltetto and his wife Catterina began making the local Barbera and Nebbiolo at Canale, in the Roero.

In 1977 their son Antonio, fresh from the Alba oenological school, took over and revolutionised the estate, making his first 933 bottles of Roero Arneis from the San Michele hill — a pioneer of the grape's modern revival.

The estate, certified organic since 2017, makes Roero Arneis (San Michele, Daivej), Roero reds and Alta Langa metodo classico sparkling.
