History

The Cigliuti family has been in the Neive area since the 1300s. Renato's grandfather, father Leone and uncle Romualdo sold grapes and unbottled wine on the local market until 1964, when Renato Cigliuti — convinced of the Serraboella hill's quality — became the first in the family to estate-bottle Barbaresco.

The small F.lli Cigliuti winery sits in the Serraboella hamlet of Neive, run by Renato with his wife Dina and daughters Claudia and Silvia.

The family farms 7.5 hectares — six in Serraboella and 1.5 at Bricco di Neive — making about 30,000 bottles a year of Barbaresco and Langhe wines.
