History
The Bianco family began making wine in 1870 under Giovanni Bianco, and in 1961 acquired Cascina Morassino from the Pelissero family. Mauro Bianco founded the estate under its own label in 1984, drawing on three earlier generations of winemaking from the Ovello cru.
The estate is small — just 4.5 hectares — at the foot of Ovello, the northernmost and one of the historic first vineyards of Barbaresco.
It is run today by Mauro's son Roberto Bianco, with 3.5 hectares in Ovello and one hectare in the Cottà sub-zone at Neive.
