History

Cascina Luisin was founded in 1913 by Luigi Minuto — 'Luisin' means 'little Luigi' — whose family had sold their own wine since the 1860s, hauling demijohns by oxcart to market in Turin. The cellar, built in 1910, is said to be the first winery built outside the village of Barbaresco itself.

The Minuto family has remained in charge ever since, with Roberto Minuto today the eighth generation.

The estate makes Barbaresco from prized crus including Rabajà-Bas, Asili and Basarin, overlooking the valley toward the Barbaresco tower.
