History
The Veglio di Castelletto family came to Piedmont from Umbria in the 1500s. At the end of the 1800s a descendant bought the Cascina Bruni estate — once called 'La Favorita' — at Serralunga, from the Di Mirafiore heirs of King Vittorio Emanuele II, land that had earlier belonged to the Opera Pia of Barolo.
In 1897 Giuseppe Luigi Veglio di Castelletto resolved that 'from now on we will make our own Barolo', founding the winery.
The family has made wine at Cascina Bruni for more than nine generations, with Serralunga Barolo at its core.
