History

Cascina Ballarin was built in 1928 by Pietro Viberti, whose family the townsfolk of La Morra had long nicknamed 'Ballarin' — dancer — after an ancestor who had worked on Alba's Strada Ballerini.

The farm grew into a winery under Luigi Viberti, grandson of Pietro, and his sons Giorgio and Giovanni, who specialised in viticulture and winemaking.

The Viberti family, at La Morra in the Annunziata area, makes Barolo from its holdings including Bricco Rocca.
