History
The Bava family has held vineyards in Cocconato since the 1600s, but the winery proper dates to 1911, when Giuseppe Bava opened an inn with restaurant, ballroom and cellar in Cocconato next to the newly built Asti-Chivasso railway line.
More than a hundred harvests and six generations later, the family still farms Monferrato's aromatic varieties, notably Malvasia, Moscato d'Asti and Ruche di Castagnole Monferrato, alongside Barbera, across roughly 55 hectares in Monferrato and the Langhe.
