History
The Grasso family's history at Ca' del Baio goes back to the late 1800s, when Giuseppe Grasso moved from Calosso, in the Asti area, to Treiso in the Barbaresco zone and bought the Cascina Vallegrande farmhouse and its land.
Four generations on, the estate is run by brothers Giulio and Luciano Grasso together with Giulio's daughters Paola, Valentina and Federica, farming 28 hectares of vineyard.
The holdings span several prized crus — Asili and Pora in the commune of Barbaresco, Vallegrande and Marcarini in Treiso — the basis for the estate's single-vineyard Barbaresco.
