History
Bel Colle was founded in 1975 on the Borgo Castagni hill of Verduno by the brothers Franco and Carlo Pontiglione together with Giuseppe Priola, with the aim of making quality wines rooted in local tradition.
The oenologist Paolo Torchio led the winery from 1980 to 2015, making Bel Colle one of Verduno's most important estates and the first Italian producer of Verduno Pelaverga, a symbol of the area's rebirth.
In 2015 the Bosio family, four-generation producers from Santo Stefano Belbo, acquired Bel Colle; its vineyards include Monvigliero and Borgo Castagni at Verduno and Bussia at Monforte d'Alba.
