History
The Almondo family have lived on and owned their Montà hill in the Roero since the 1300s, working the land through the generations.
The estate championed the native Arneis from the 1980s, when the variety was nearly extinct; its Bricco delle Ciliegie vineyard, at around 390 metres, holds some of Piedmont's oldest Arneis vines, planted by Giovanni Almondo's grandfather.
Now led by the oenologist Domenico Almondo, the 15-hectare estate is known for its high-altitude Roero Arneis.
