History

Umani Ronchi, based at Osimo in the Marche, was founded in 1957 and grown by the Bianchi-Bernetti family into one of the region's leading estates and a reference for its two great denominations — the white Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and the red Conero from Montepulciano.

The estate farms both heartlands: the Castelli di Jesi hills for Verdicchio and the Conero promontory on the Adriatic for Montepulciano. It has been central to raising the profile of Verdicchio as a serious, age-worthy white and of Conero as a structured southern-Marche red.

Flagships include the Verdicchio 'Casal di Serra' and the barrel-aged 'Plenio' Riserva, and, in red, the Conero 'Cùmaro' and the acclaimed 'Pelago' (a Montepulciano/Cabernet blend).
