History
Domenico Triacca, a wine trader between Valtellina and the Swiss Valposchiavo, bought his first vine-covered plot in the Valgella area of Valtellina in 1897, founding what became one of the region's most important houses.
After his death in 1910 the firm passed to his widow Orsola and then his son Eugenio; in 1969 the family acquired the La Gatta estate at Bianzone, a former Dominican monastery with 13 hectares of vines.
Still family-run from a Swiss base at Campascio, with an Italian production hub at Villa di Tirano, it is led today by brothers Giovanni and the oenologist Luca Triacca.
