History
The Ricci Curbastro estate at Capriolo was founded in 1885, and turned into a modern winery by Gualberto Ricci Curbastro in 1967 — the year the Franciacorta DOC was created. The family's agricultural roots reach back to the 13th century, with the Rontana estate at Brisighella in Romagna.
Farmed organically, the estate was among the first in Lombardy to earn the Equalitas 'Sustainable Company' certification, in 2017.
Its old farm buildings house the Museo Agricolo e del Vino, unique in Franciacorta; the winery is run today by Riccardo Ricci Curbastro with his sons Gualberto and Filippo.
