History
Monsupello was founded by the Boatti family in 1893 at Oliva Gessi, in the Oltrepò Pavese. In 1954 Carlo Boatti, nicknamed 'Tango', took the helm and turned the small winery — now based at Torricella Verzate — into the best-known metodo classico house of the Oltrepò.
A founder of the Oltrepò wine consortium, Carlo built the estate's reputation on traditional-method sparkling from Pinot Nero with a little Chardonnay.
Now in its fifth generation under Pierangelo and Laura Boatti, Monsupello marks over 130 years of Oltrepò winemaking.
