History

In 1955 Count Guido Berlucchi called the young oenologist Franco Ziliani to Palazzo Lana in Borgonato to stabilise the estate's wines.

The two decided to make a classic-method sparkling wine, and in 1961 sealed 3,000 bottles of Pinot di Franciacorta, the area's first Franciacorta.

The house, now led by the Ziliani family, became a founder of the Franciacorta appellation and one of its largest producers.
