History
Contadi Castaldi was founded in 1987 at Adro, when Vittorio Moretti — the man behind the celebrated Bellavista — bought an old dismantled furnace and turned it into a sparkling-wine cellar; its brick-baking tunnels were perfect for ageing Franciacorta.
The name blends medieval Franciacorta history: 'contadi' were small farming territories and 'castaldi' the lords who oversaw them.
Part of the Terra Moretti group alongside Bellavista, Contadi Castaldi works as a laboratory for a modern, experimental reading of metodo classico.
