History
The Zordan family has run Cascina Maddalena in Lugana di Sirmione since 1924, when their great-grandmother Maria Marangoni, widow Zordan, acquired the estate; the cascina itself traces further back to the mid-1800s, named by original owner Gedeone Gennari after his daughter Maddalena.
In 2024 the family, now led by fourth-generation siblings Mattia, Elena and Elisa Zordan, marked 100 years on the property, one of the historic estates credited with shaping Lugana wine in its modern form.
