History

Cantina Sassarini was opened in 1968 by Natale Sassarini, who saw the quality and economic potential of local wine before the Cinque Terre DOC regulations arrived in 1973, making it the first winery established in the Cinque Terre.

Natale gathered a network of local growers around his cellar in Monterosso; his son Giancarlo now continues the business from a fully renovated production facility, bottling both dry Cinque Terre white and the sweet Sciacchetra.
