History
The Guglierame family began selling wine at Imperia in 1860 and from 1958 bottled Ormeasco under their own name, shipping it across Italy, Europe and the United States. For generations the house made nothing but Ormeasco di Pornassio, the mountain red of the upper Arroscia, and was praised by Mario Soldati in 'Vino al Vino' and awarded a Gran Medaglia Cangrande at Verona in 1997.
Its roughly two and a half hectares sit at about 550 metres on land descending from the ancient Marchesato Scarella, making around fifteen thousand bottles a year. In 2021 the historic label and its vineyards passed to Peq Agri of Andora, which continues the Guglierame Ormeasco.
