History
Vigneti Iucci has made wine since 1910 at La Creta, in Sant'Elia Fiumerapido opposite the abbey of Montecassino, in what was once the Terra di Lavoro. The family were among the first in Italy to acclimatise French grapes — Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Sauvignon — in the hills of Sant'Elia and neighbouring Atina.
Taught by his grandfather Benedetto, Giuseppe Iucci has preserved this heritage, replanting from clones that had become almost native after a century in the soil. The estate's wines, among them the Atina Cabernet 'Sammichele', feature in the major Italian guides from Gambero Rosso to Slow Wine.
