History

Ômina Romana was founded in 2007 by the German entrepreneur Anton F. Börner, a lover of Roman history, and his Italian wife Anna Maria, who saw the potential of the Velletri terroir.

The name derives from the Latin 'omen' ('good omens'), framed by the Greek omega and Latin alpha for nature's cycle.

The estate blends 2,500 years of wine history with modern vinification; it is now led by their daughter Katharina Börner.
