History
The Nuova Cantina Sociale di Genazzano was founded in 1956 as a growers' cooperative in the upper Sacco valley, on the hills below the Monti Simbruini east of Rome.
It gathers the fruit of some 330 member farmers across Genazzano and the neighbouring communes of the Genazzano DOC.
Its wines carry the Genazzano DOC - a Malvasia-di-Candia-led white and a Sangiovese-and-Cesanese red - one of the few outlets keeping this small denomination alive.
