History
Villa Russiz was founded on 15 February 1868 with the marriage of Elvine Ritter von Zahony (who brought the estate as dowry) and the French Count Theodor de La Tour.
La Tour was among the first to plant French varieties in the Collio, grasping its microclimate; his wines reached the courts of Europe and the Tsars.
After the First World War the estate passed to the Italian state and, under Adele Cerruti, became a foundation caring for children, a mission it still carries out.
