History
The estate's roots trace to 1648, when Emperor Ferdinand III of the Holy Roman Empire granted the land known as Langoris to Locatello Locatelli in reward for service in the Thirty Years' War, founding what became Villa Locatelli and the surrounding fields.
Nearly four centuries later the property remains in family hands, today run by sisters Marta and Claudia Locatelli, who took over from their father Luciano and have renewed the estate's winemaking and image while continuing to farm vineyards across Collio, Isonzo and Colli Orientali.
