Friuli Colli Orientali DOC

In 1970 Paolo and Dina Rapuzzi founded Ronchi di Cialla and, with the mayor of Prepotto, found about 60 surviving Schioppettino vines.

Their work revived the grape and won the Premio Nonino Risit d'Aur in 1975; Schioppettino entered the Colli Orientali DOC in 1989.

In 1977 the estate was among the first in Italy to age reds and whites in barrique; sons Ivan and Pierpaolo run it today.
