History
The community of San Patrignano was founded in 1978 by Vincenzo Muccioli as a refuge and rehabilitation programme for people affected by drug addiction; wine was made from the start (Sangiovese and Trebbiano).
Vineyards spread to over 100 hectares and quality rose sharply in the 1990s.
The flagship 'Avi' is dedicated to Vincenzo ('AVIncenzo') and to the forefathers (avi) who handed down Sangiovese.
