History
Podere Pradarolo, in the hills of Parma, was bought by Alberto Carretti in 1972 and turned over to viticulture; with Claudia Iannelli he built one of Italy's most distinctive natural-wine estates, a reference for extreme skin-contact winemaking.
The wines ferment spontaneously on indigenous yeasts and undergo very long macerations — sometimes up to nine months (90-210 days) — in concrete, then bottle without filtration, fining or added sulfur. The result is a range of deeply structured, amber, gastronomic wines.
The signature is 'Vej', an orange wine from 100% Malvasia di Candia Aromatica given months of skin contact, alongside cuvées from Barbera, Termarina and Spergola — released as Emilia IGter table wine, and beloved in the natural-wine world.
