History

The Pandolfa estate at Predappio passed in 1941 to Commendator Giuseppe Ricci of Forlì; his daughter Noelia Ricci planted the first vineyards in the 1970s.

In 2012-2013 her grandson Marco Cirese carved out the best 9 hectares to create the Noelia Ricci project, named for his grandmother, with a first vintage in 2013.

The flagship 'Il Sangiovese' of Predappio wears a wasp on its label.
