History
Il Farneto (L'Agricola del Farneto) was founded in 1992 by Marco Bertoni on the Farneto plateau at Castellarano, in the Reggio Emilia foothills of the Tosco-Emiliano Apennines.
Of the estate's 90 hectares, some 17 are vineyard at around 250 metres, on fossil-rich clay, silt and sand, worked organically for natural wines.
Its heart is the local white Spergola, native to the Colli di Scandiano e di Canossa, alongside the region's Lambrusco.
