History
The estate traces back to the late 1800s, when Michele Vicidomini began producing small quantities of wine at Monte di Procida. In 1958 his son Salvatore and Salvatore's wife Matilde moved the operation to Pozzuoli, near the Solfatara volcano, and began bottling wine under the name Tenuta Matilde Zasso rather than only selling it in bulk.
Today the winery is run by the five Vicidomini children, each responsible for a stage of production from viticulture to bottling and distribution, making it one of the largest Campi Flegrei DOC producers and the only one based in Pozzuoli itself.
