History
Scala Fenicia was created in 2010 to revive Capri's winemaking, though the founding family has made wine and olive oil on the island since 1818.
The cellar is built inside an ancient Roman cistern on Anacapri, its cascading vaulted rooms thought to date to the water system that once served Emperor Tiberius's Villa Jovis.
The tiny estate works four terraced parcels on the north-east side of Monte Solaro, producing one of the very few true island-grown Capri Bianco DOC wines from Greco, Falanghina and Biancolella.
