Monserrato 1973

History

Monserrato was founded in 1973 by Francesco Zecchina, a Neapolitan building contractor with a passion for wine, who restored an old rural ruin on the hills around Benevento with the help of a young estate manager.

The estate today farms organically and produces a line of six wines rooted in the Samnite terroir, including Falanghina del Sannio, Aglianico, Fiano and the rare Barbera del Sannio grape known locally as Camaiola.
