History
Cantine Barone was founded in 2004 at Rutino, a small farming village of the lower Cilento on the right bank of the Alento, by Giuseppe Di Fiore, Francesco Barone and the Perrella family, who restored a cooperative cellar dating to 1946.
Working with the oenologist Vincenzo Mercurio and moving into organic farming, the estate makes around ninety thousand bottles a year from about twelve hectares at four hundred metres, built on the Cilento's native Aglianico and Fiano — among them the Fiano 'Mater Cilento' and the organic 'Una Mattina'.
