History
Tenute Pacelli sits at Malvito, in the hills of the Esaro valley north of Cosenza below the Pollino, on an estate whose roots go back to the late 1700s and the fortified hunting lodge of the Barons La Costa. In the late 2000s Francesco Pacelli, a Neapolitan lawyer, inherited the property from his uncle Gaetano and set about turning it into a proper winery.
The company was founded in 2010 and is run by Clara Pacelli with her daughters Laura and Carla. Farming organically across about ten hectares, they build their range around the native Magliocco Dolce of the Terre di Cosenza while also making an unusual Calabrian Riesling.
