History
Ferrocinto takes its name from a fortified farmhouse the Salituri barons built in 1849 near Castrovillari, at the foot of the Pollino; new vineyards were planted from 2000 and the Ferrocinto label launched in 2008.
The organic-certified estate works about 50 hectares of native Calabrian varieties, bottling around 400,000 units a year under the Terre di Cosenza (Pollino) DOC and Calabria IGT.
