Baroni Capoano

History

Surgeon Raffaele Capoano began bottling wine from his family's estate above Cirò Marina in 1997; his son Massimiliano Capoano, a young Calabrian viticulturist, took over the organic operation in 2005.

The estate's roots on these hills are said to trace back to the 12th century, and the cellar ages its top wines beneath the family's historic palazzo, in vaulted rooms with walls up to 2.5 meters thick.
