History
Rino Botte and his wife Lucia, both Barile natives, returned home in 1998 after success in the restaurant business in the north of Italy.
Botte bought an abandoned winery in the heart of Barile, founding both the Macarico estate and the Locanda del Palazzo hotel-restaurant.
The flagship 'Macari' takes its name from the Macarico lava flow.
