History

Casa Vinicola D'Angelo was formally set up in the 1930s by Rocco D'Angelo, with the family's wines already shown at the Bari trade fair in 1924.

Rocco D'Angelo Sr, son of the founder, was among the most active promoters of Aglianico del Vulture, which gained DOC status in 1971; in 1976 the wine first reached the American and German markets.

In the 1980s Lucio D'Angelo took the helm; today Erminia and Rocco own the estate.
