History

Azienda Monti is a family estate at Controguerra, in the Colline Teramane hills of northern Abruzzo, run by the Monti family — Antonio, Elio and Emilia among them, with Emilia sitting on the board of the Consorzio di Tutela Colline Teramane.

From roughly ten hectares given to Montepulciano and Pecorino the family makes about seventy thousand bottles; the year 2000 saw the launch of its flagship, the Colline Teramane Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva 'Pignotto', and the estate took a Gran Medaglia Cangrande at Vinitaly 2018.
