Semidano
Also known as Semidano di Mogoro.
Semidano is a rare native white grape of central-southern Sardinia, with its historic heartland at Mogoro in the Campidano, and it gives its name to the island-wide Sardegna Semidano DOC (whose Mogoro sub-zone is its core). Once more widespread, it is now grown in small quantities.
It produces structured, characterful whites with good body and acidity, citrus and orchard-fruit flavour and the capacity for still, sparkling and passito styles — more substantial than many everyday Sardinian whites.
