Nuragus

Also known as Nuragus di Cagliari, Abbondosa.

Nuragus is one of Sardinia's most ancient and, historically, most widely-planted white grapes, named for the island's Bronze-Age nuraghe towers and centred on the southern Campidano around Cagliari. It is the base of the Nuragus di Cagliari DOC.

A vigorous, high-yielding vine, it gives fresh, light, crisp dry whites with modest aromatics — citrus, green apple and a faint herbal note — best drunk young; a frizzante version is traditional.
