Montuni

Also known as Montu.

Montuni (Montu) is a white grape of the low plain between Bologna and Modena, the basis of the Reno DOC. Traditionally productive and late-ripening, it is made dry, off-dry and frizzante.

It gives light, fresh whites with modest aromatics — apple, hay and white flowers — and a clean, slightly bitter finish, historically a everyday wine of the bassa bolognese.
