Manzoni Moscato

Also known as Incrocio Manzoni 13.0.25.

A crossing of Moscato d'Amburgo (Muscat Hamburg) and Raboso Piave, bred by Prof. Luigi Manzoni at the Conegliano oenological school during his 1930-1935 trials — a red-berried variety, unlike Manzoni Bianco or Manzoni Rosso, distinguished by an inherited Muscat aromatic character from its Muscat Hamburg parent grafted onto the vigor and productivity of the native Raboso Piave.

Late-ripening and vigorous, with strong resistance to powdery mildew. Because of its aromatic, delicately colored skin, it is most often vinified as a light-bodied, off-dry rosé, still or lightly sparkling, rather than a conventional red. It appears as a named varietal-specification grape across several of Veneto's minor IGTs (Alto Livenza, Colli Trevigiani, Conselvano, Marca Trevigiana, Veneto Orientale).
