Incrocio Manzoni 2-3

Also known as Incrocio Manzoni 2.3.

A white crossing of Trebbiano Toscano and Traminer Aromatico, bred by Prof. Luigi Manzoni at the Conegliano oenological school during his 1920s-1930s trials — a genuinely distinct registered variety from Manzoni's other white crossing, Manzoni Bianco (Riesling x Pinot Bianco), and from the pink-skinned Manzoni Rosa, which shares the same Trebbiano x Traminer parentage but is a different individual seedling selection. Officially admitted to Italy's National Vine Variety Register in 2011.

Cultivation remains minor (around 2 hectares nationally), concentrated in the hills between Conegliano and Vittorio Veneto, with small experimental plots in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Trentino, Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany. It appears by name only in the Colli Trevigiani IGT among Veneto's denominations. Wines are straw yellow with greenish reflections, showing white flowers, citrus, peach and pear on the nose with herbal and light spice notes, fresh and savory on the palate with lively acidity and a mineral edge.
