Incrocio Bruni 54

Incrocio Bruni 54 ('Bruni cross 54') is a white Italian wine grape created in the Marche in 1936 by Professor Bruno Bruni, a cross of the native Verdicchio with French Sauvignon Blanc. Its name records that it was the 54th of Bruni's numbered crossings. It remains uncommon, cultivated mainly in the Marche with a little in Umbria.

The variety is prized for combining the aromatic intensity of Sauvignon Blanc with the body and texture of Verdicchio, giving wines with a balance of spice, freshness, and a characteristic mineral edge. It has long been used as a powerful blending grape and is now also bottled on its own; in the Marche it is a permitted component of the Colli Maceratesi DOC and a monovarietal of the regional Marche IGT.
