Ginestra

White grapeCampania, southern Italy (Amalfi Coast, Tramonti)
← Grapes

Also known as Biancazita, Biancatenera.

Ginestra is a rare white grape of the Amalfi Coast, grown around Tramonti and recorded in its disciplinare under the synonyms Biancazita and Biancatenera. It is one of the near-endemic Amalfitan whites of the Costiera's terraced vineyards.

Ginestra is used together with Pepella, Ripoli and Fenile in the Tramonti sub-zone white of the Costa d'Amalfi DOC. Independent varietal data is very scarce, so its measured characteristics are left unrecorded here rather than estimated.
