Casetta

A rare, tannic red grape revived in the Vallagarina, the valley shared by Trentino and Verona province.

Registered in the National Vine Variety Register as a distinct variety (MASAF scheda 369, "Casetta N."). Locally nicknamed "Foja tonda" (Trentino dialect for "round leaf") — Valdadige Terradeiforti's own disciplinare (Art. 9) explicitly confirms this is NOT the same grape as Tuscany's similarly-nicknamed Foglia Tonda (MASAF scheda 082, already profiled in this dataset from the Toscana grape pass): the two registry entries carry no cross-reference to each other, meaning they are ampelographically distinct varieties that merely share a similar popular nickname, not a genetic identity.
